We are Nathan and Shandra, founders of Dovetail Contracting LLC.
We are ambitious and devoted to helping people invest in their lives through their homes. It is genuinely our pleasure to meet you, build client relationships, and provide excellence in construction.

I have been in construction for 20 years. In the summer of 2003, I started my first job building decks, followed by working in the supervision of home building, new home warranty, and then lastly with a finish carpentry crew where my woodworking skills became honed.
In 2011 Shandra and I formed our first company and have won multiple Best Of and Elite Service Awards from Home Advisor. We moved to Idaho in 2020 to continue our building excellence under the fresh name of Dovetail Contracting LLC.
We like that our name draws from the strength and preservation of a dovetail wood joint and the gentleness of a dove.

I grew up in the home-building industry and used to dream of planning homes. So, working alongside my husband in home remodeling is a happy reality.
I enjoy working with Nathan through each project's individual needs and collaborating on the plans with him and the homeowners. It's rewarding to watch a space go from paper to reality.

We have won each available award through 2021, after which we have been thrilled to meet new homeowners primarily through referrals and visitors to our website.

Why the name Dovetail?
We thought very seriously about what to name our company. We wanted a name that represented the values and meanings dear to us. So when it came time to decide, we chose a name based on strength, craft, comfort, and peace.
The dovetail joint is one of the strongest and withstanding joints a woodworker can craft. A dove carrying an olive branch represents extending comfort, hope, and peace. These symbols are close to our hearts, and we wish to extend these qualities to you.
